The Viaduct is the hub of life at Dean Clough serving a diverse customer base - on-site businesses, theatre and event goes and gallery visitors. Our brief was to establish the cafe bar as the face of Dean Clough reflecting through design the sites heritage and embodying its new life as a centre for business and culture. Our work included a complete interior refurbishment; space planning, design of the servery and bar, design of bespoke furniture, lighting and ceiling treatments. In addition we created a new identity, menus and signage.
The location and popularity of the cafe made it an ideal vehicle to promote other areas of the Dean Clough brand, and throughout the
development of the scheme we focused on integrated opportunities to cross-sell, from merchandising product from the on-site Design Shop
to promoting events at the Viaduct Theatre and Comedy Club.
Dean Clough required the Viaduct to be a fully flexible space, able to accommodate a range of events and numbers of people. The ability to change and flex a space is something we aim for in much of our work in the leisure sector, providing client's with maximum opportunities to offer their venue to as wide a group of customers as possible.
